"Exploit you... what do you mean?" Leo now intrigued by Chii's words. "The most I could ever do with these ears is get in major trouble." Leo sighed as he wanted to hear Chii's story.

Chii shifted uncomfortably. "Well you know... The media and things. People would flock to see me, pay money and things to get pictures with the panther freak." She paused, her face dark. "And then doctors and scientists from all over would come and take me away and do tests, and take samples, and other horrible things," she said sadly. "I just don't want that ever to happen..."

"It's okay, I'm sorry I brought it up... I guess everyone can't really run away can they." Leo trying to chuckle as he had somewhat of a sad face on as if remembering something painful. 'I guess I should start to consider others feeling more now that I have a friend.' Leo trying to move the subject away from painful memories. "You said you were a panther right, how do you know that?" Leo ask as he didn't really know what he was at all.

She grinned at him. "Kani's a vet, surprisingly ironic right?" she said jokingly.
As if on cue, Kani walked back in the room, and sat in a chair near directly in front of Chii and Leo. "So...? What's going on now?"she asked bluntly, looking between Chii and Leo.
"I mer him by the sakura tree in the park after school and found out he lived at the park. So i said he could stay here, and due to a chain of events, found out he has cat ears, almost like me," summarized Chii.

Leo was a little confused not knowing what to say. So he just sat quietly and told himself to only talk if he was asked to. He wondered how long that would last and decided to wait and listen to there conversation.
(I know it's a cop out reply, but Leo just can't say anything here without getting things kinda awkward. XD)

Kani nodded. "So you want him to stay here?" she asked, clarifying what she thought was the point.
"Kinda yeah... It's getting pretty bad outside this time of year," Chii said firmly.
"I guess you're right." Kani said looking over to Leo. "Do you want to stay here? Do you have relatives or somethings you need to contact?" she asked responsibly.

"I'm not sure really I don't want to impose on you or your family... and as for relatives my mom lives in America and I wouldn't want to worry her too much." Leo trying to hold his past in and preferring it stay that way. Leo now not knowing what was going to happen decided it was best to wait for the mother's response before saying anymore.

"Then it's settled!" Kani said cheerfully, clapping hands once and giving Leo a tired smile. "You can stay in our guest room."
Chii grinned at her mom. "Thanks Kani," she said gratefully.
"Do you have any things you need to get form your... um... old home," Kani said delicately, scratching the back of her neck.

"Nothing that isn't already gone..." Leo sighed. "Thank you, I am very grateful for all your doing for me." Leo trying to be polite and bowing his head for Chii's mom. "I guess we should head for bed now, seeing as it's so late," Leo getting up for a moment.

Getting up as well, Chii and Kani nodded. "I guess you're right," said Kani. "There should be enough stuff for the night in the guest room for the night Leo so I'll let you get some rest,"she said kindly as she left the room.

"Chii, thank you." Leo whispered in Chii's ear before walking away from her with a smile that he was grateful for. Leo walked up the stairs to the guest room and fell to the bed. "I had almost forgotten what a real bed feels like," Leo joked with himself as he watched the ceiling before he fell asleep.

After getting a glass of water, Chii went into her room and got ready for bed. She got ready and got into bed. Well today was... interesting... she thought happily, and went to sleep afterwards.

-The Next Day-
Leo had woken up and decent time for once and decided to get redressed and get out of bed. Leo was walking around in his room when he heard some commotion down stairs and went to check it out. As he walked down the stairs he noticed Kani in the kitchen making breakfast. 'A mother making breakfast... long time since I've seen that.' Leo thought as he stumbled around still half asleep.

Hearing him come in, Kani turned around, and smiled kindly at him. "Good morning Leo! Do you like eggs or do you want some pancakes?" she asked happily.

"Anything would be nice, thank you." Leo sat down waiting at the table very uncomfortable in his new surroundings. "This isn't much like the park at all." Leo joked as to lighten his spirits. Leo after his joke noticed Mu and Chii were not down yet. "Umm, Miss. Kani where are Mu and Chii at?" Leo asked trying not to be too nosy.

"They should be upstairs getting ready. Chii helps Mu get ready so I can make food for everyone," explained Kani while flipping a pancake and reaching over to stir the eggs.

"Getting ready for what? It's Sunday, you guys should be relaxing, right?" Leo confused by the fact everyone was getting ready so early on a Sunday.

Kani looked over quickly before turning back to the food. "Yes, all students have school today in japan. Did you just move here or something? Are you enrolled in school yet?" she asked quickly, her attention on Leo and the food making her stressed.

"I think I should have told you this last night before I went to bed, may apologizes. I just moved here a few days ago and I was to enroll in Sasukama Academy, but all of the tuition money my mother sent me had been stolen so I couldn't attend." Leo explained while Kani was cooking the food.

She paused, spoon up in the air as she thought. "Sasukama.... That's all boys right? You should probably go to the police about this. Was it a check or something?" she asked worriedly.

"No, I can't go to the police... they ask to many questions and it was in my back. She pulled a loan from the bank and gave me the money." Leo was getting uncomfortable with all these questions as he started looking back at all the mistakes he had made since coming to Japan.

"No... she gave me the money before I left on the plane." Leo was now getting nervous and didn't want to answer anymore, but was not sure how to tell her so he said it. "Please... could we talk about something else?" Leo pleaded with a depressed tone in his voice.

Jumping slightly, Kani turned to look at him with a guilty expression. "Oh... Sorry. I didn't mean to pr," she said softly.
"The eggs are burning," said Chii bluntly, walking into the room with Mu. She turned to Leo. "Good morning, did you sleep well?"
