Katherine shrugged his hold away, turning to her closet. She yanked out a bag no bigger than a school backpack and began stuffing clothes into it. After that, she went to the bathroom to gather the essentials, moving back into the room with a full intention in her eye. Biting her lip's corner, she asked him, "Would it be okay if I brought my violin?"

He nodded, then cocked his head in confusion. "What's a violin, love?" He asked. Human contraptions were such a wonder to him. They had so many odd things with purposes he had never imagined needing something for. What did a violin do?

Katherine smiled at him, putting the bag down on her bed. "Here, I'll show you," she said, moving slowly towards her closet. She carefully opened up the door and leaned in, coming back out with a small, black case, which she also placed down upon the sheets of the bed. With nimble fingers she clicked to metallic bars upward and let the case glide open. "This is a violin. It's an instrument."

Kisshu looked down at the violin. It was made of wood, with strings that connected from a thin neck down to a wider base. It looked old, but still shone with a sort of polish. "It's pretty. But what does it do?" He questioned. He reached out and touched it with gentle fingertips.

"Well..." Katherine exhaled, placing her hand on the lid. In one swift movement, she had it shut, the metallic locks already snapped downward. "I can't show you here, unless you'd like to awaken Raul." She put her index finger lightly over her lips to signify that it made a lot of noise in an area that should be kept quiet.

"But you'll show me later?" He made her promise. He wanted to see what this object was, that she treasured it so much. It was a mysterious part of her. He didn't like that. He wanted to know all of her. Know everything about her. He wanted to be the only one, the only one to understand everything. He wanted to be her stronghold.

"Yes..." She whispered, reaching out for his hand. "I'm ready to leave this place." That's not what she really meant though. Rather, the point behind her words was, I'm ready to leave my old self behind. I'm ready to be reborn. She knew all to well that he would be able to supply this merely in his subconcious, without even realizing it.

He enveloped her in his arms, pulling her into him and pulling them away from her little room and towards his. He would hold her close and treasure her always. She would never have to look behind her in fear of the ghosts of the past again. Never again would they be able to harm her.

Katherine placed the case on the bed when the reappeared in his bedroom. Carefully lifting the violin out of the black chamber, she said to him, "I'm not very good, but I've been trying to learn ever since Mom left it behind." She lifted the base up to her shoulder and lifted a long, thin stick out of the case. "You ready?"

Kisshu nodded, watching her with excitement. He wondered what would happen, what the long stick she had pulled out meant. "Yes, I'm ready."

Katherine lifted the thin stick up to the strings, placing its first layer ever so gently upon the thin metal. She sighed, shutting her eyes. As the thin layer upon the stick glided across the strings, the violin let out a gorgeous sound. Without any recollection of whatever the hell she was playing, Kat just began to wing it.

Kisshu's eyes widened and his jaw drop. Such a beautiful noise that was emerging from the violin. His Katherine looked like some sort of goddess, playing the instrument with so much grace. She was gorgeous, and the music suited her. It made him think of his future, their baby....everything that was to come for them. The beautiful family they would raise, the love that they would share. He began to feel teardrops roll down his cheeks.

Katherine finished up her song, forcing her lips into a small pout. "Well that wasn't as good as I thought it'd be..." She muttered to herself. "Maybe if I changed that one in the middle to a B flat... no, that'd sound out of tune with the rest of..." She trailed off in a whisper, eventually looking up to him with a smile. "Well... that's all a violin does. It'd be prettier if I were better at it."

He shook his head at her in awe, the tears still streaming. "No...Katherine...that was beautiful..." He argued. "I've never heard something that made me feel like this in my life...it was wonderful, love." He was to her in only a few long strides, taking her into his arms and kissing the top of her head.

Katherine sat there in silence for a few moments, simply sitting there letting him hold her. "You're... so strange..." She muttered.

He chuckled. "I know." Feather soft, he pet her hair. "I know I am, love. But it truly was beautiful. Just as you are. Now," He pulled back, gazing into her eyes. "is there anything, anything at all, you desire at this moment? Food, sleep, anything. Just ask it of me."

Katherine bit down hard on her lip. She knew exactly what she wanted, but how could she word it? How could she tell him, 'I want to talk to my dad,' when Kisshu was under the assumption of his murder...? "I... I want a phonebook, and a phone, if at all possible," she said, quietly, stuffing her hands into her pants pockets.

He nodded to her. "Of couse, honey. Anything." He kissed her forehead before going off to grab the things that she requested. "Phonebook...phonebook...didn't they leave one of those on the porch once? Phonebook...HERE!" He grabbed up the thick waste of paper . He cursed it, but his beloved needed it, so he refrained from inflicting harm on it. These damned humans and their blatant disrespect of mother earth..."now...where's that phone thingy....aha!" Having found what Katherine wanted, he made his way back to her.

"Thank you," Katherine said, taking both of the items from under his arm. She leafed through the phone book into the international section (can you believe Japanese phone books actually HAVE those?) to find the number that she wanted. Flipping the cell phone open, she quickly punched a few keys in to develope a phone number. "Hi, can you direct me to Toluca County prison, please? Yeah, I'll wait. Thank you."

Kisshu watched and listened in fascination. A prison? Who would she want to talk to that was in prison. If she hadn't been on the phone, he would have asked her. However, she was preoccupied.

"I need to speak with an inmate please. No, sir, I'm afraid not. I'm twenty four, sir. Is that a problem?" It was far to easy to lie about her age... "Yes, I understand. Go ahead and record it, I don't mind. Thank you. His name is Johnathon Mason. Alright." She was silent for a moment, twirling her hair in her fingers. Eventually her eyes lit up a bit. "Uh... Dad... it's Katherine..."

Kisshu's eyes widened. Dad? She had told him that her parents were dead. She said they had been shot in the head. So, why was she calling her father?

Katherine had to laugh at the soft tone in her father's voice as he spoke. "I've been fine... Raul and I just rented out a place from the bank here in Japan. Fine. Yeah... I guess I was... How's your health? Right... Mm hm... That's good. Listen, Dad, I... I have something I have to tell you. You're not going to like it, and quite frankly, you're the last man I want to share this with, but..." She swallowed hard. "I'm pregant. And I'm getting married." There was a silence for many, many minutes. "Yes. I'm sure." She laughed a bit. "I don't know yet. I just found out about a half an hour ago. No, I'm not asking for money. I just wanted to confide in a parent. You know how Raul is... Right."

Kisshu couldn't believe it. Had she lied to him? He didn't want to feel hurt, but it cut into him.

"Okay... I understand... I will. I--" She paused, looking up to the ceiling with wide eyes. "Why did you do it, Dad? What did she do to make you do it? ...Yes. No... No, I understand... It wasn't right of you, regardless. That's no mistake, Dad. I hear your guard calling. Don't get yourself in trouble if you have to hang up. Okay... Right... I-... I love you too, daddy..." She hung up the phone instantly, buring her face in her hands.
