Axella sat in a flowerbed under the shade of the lilies outside of some rich person's home. It was her first time being among humans and she had almost been spotted by someone and has yet to be able to get out of hiding to go to a safer place so she hid among the flowers in her normal, small size.
Kayne walked along the sidewalk next to a school and through a town quite far away. He headed to work, reluctantly living among humans acting as one himself. He was having trouble returning home so for now he would live among humans and pretend to be one.

Alexander walked out of the large manor, his sisters puppy scampering out in front of him "now jezel you stay close dear." he said to the puppy as it sniffed the flowers moving them around with her nose, Alexander sighed "Jezel."

Skye walked out of the school laughing with a few of her friends
"you guys want to go to the ice cream parlor for a snack?" she asked and the girl nodded and they all walked along towards the parlor

"Ep!" Axella squeaked and flew away to avoid the dog's sniffing nose.
Kayne walked into the ice cream parlor, one of two places he worked. He didn't like it but it was a job to keep him going until he could find something better

Alex blinked and pulled the dog back "what are you looking for....what was that noise?"

She hid behind a lawn ornament, a shiny blue glass ball and hoped that she wasn't seen.
He ran the register and acted sociable but in his mind he was cursing and stewing at having to be around so many humans

he saw and walked towards the lawn ornament and looked behind it
"so what are you doing for your halloween costume Skye?" one of the girls asked
"i think a faerie, "
the girls groaned
"what?" she questioned
"your always a faerie." they said and she rolled her eyes

"Ep!" She squeaked and jumped into a group of flowers to hide.
In his mind, Kayne was rolling his eyes, if only those girls knew that his kind were real

he blinked and followed "hey....you can come out i wont hurt you."
she walked up to pay and she smiled, her earring were given to her by her step grandmother were actually a faerie thing "afternoon."

"I feel that I should warn you, if you turn out to be like what I've heard of humans it won't be good for you." She said and poked her head out adding, "I'm Axella."
"I'm new to working here, but I've been in this town for almost a year now." He responded

"No! I am perfectly comfortable with this distance at the present time." She answered taking a step back. She had heard too many horror stories about humans to consider trusting one after only a minute of meeting one, that was suicide and it got too many of her people killed. She came to see, at a distance, what humans were like living their daily lives.

he sat on the steps "okay so we can talk from whatever distance you are comfortable."
she looked back at him as the girls pulled her out, she couldn't help but smile

"I suppose that works." She responded but didn't know what to talk about, or why he wanted to talk to her at all. She knew there was good in this guy but she also knew how fast people, humans and fairies alike, can change even if there is still good in them, the problem was appealing to the good side if it was hard to reach, from what she had heard many humans were hard to appeal to, or her people were just unlucky and were often found by the wrong people.
Kayne went back to working until his shift ended and he headed home

A flash of red crossed her eyes with a glare before she gave a small smile and said, "Thanks but no thanks. I can find my own place to stay."
He went to the fifth floor and around a corner before coming to his hall

"Think about it. Would you accept to going into a stranger's home? Especially a stranger who is multiple times your size? The dollhouse remark was slightly irritating but my main concern is the stranger multiple times my size." She responded.
Kayne went into his apartment, not knowing that they were on the same floor, nor did he care, and stood out on the balcony looking out at the city.

"You really know how to use that charm don't you?" She asked.
He allowed himself to shrink to his normal six inch height and sat on the rail, as still as a statue so anyone looking at him would think he was just a statue if a handsome male fairy with a Mad Hatter-like style and dark red, slightly transparent wings
