Zoe looked through books to find the right spell that could guarantee her to get back to the proper moment to save her mom and began the spell. Her father had warned her against messing with time without more training. She's best with her Death magic over Time but it wasn't going to stop her from trying regardless of what her father said.
~Present~
Jason landed on a cliff side of Earth. He stood there looking down on the people of the city and changed his clothes according to what would best blend in before going into town to his apartment

Rose walked back towards her foster parents apartment, she was in her school uniform but happy that she was starting summer now. she walked into her Apartment building and went to grab her mail

She cast the spell, keeping the focus that she needed until the door opened and her father walked in, messing up her focus in the time period right as she was thrust back into time and missing the door she needed to get to. She grabbed the first one she could get a hold of and went through it landing in the middle of a park. She was lucky that no one was around to see the door open and drop her into the time.
"Where am I?" She wondered.
Jason headed out of the building to go to a job interview.

she'd changed into a sundress and ran out into the park
"where's rose?" a girl asked as they walked past Zoe paying no attention to her "how should I know that blondie is always forgetful" the other girl said
"I am not!" Zoe yelled running towards the girls when she tripped over a stump "Rose anna Noni what did we say about running." the bruntte Hailey said helping her up
"uhm.....I dont know." Rose said smiling

Zoe perked up at the name and stared at Rose and said to herself, "No way." She got up and looked over to spot a young version of her father walking down the sidewalk.
What year is this? She wondered and walked to a newspaper stand, checked the date and did the math.
"Damn, I'm the same age as my dad right now." She said to herself

My parents haven't even met yet. Zoe thought, witnessing the scene.
Jason went to his interview and headed back home afterwards and stopped to pick up his mail in the front lobby.

Zoe left them and went to find the library walking around with a map until she found it and started to learn about the time period and the human world

Zoe returned to the apartment build and asked for the apartment number of her dad before going to the third floor and knocked on the door.
He opened it and gave her a confused expression.
"Hi, you don't know me yet, but I know you. We're related." She said bluntly. He leaned against the door and arched an eyebrow skeptically.
"We are?" He asked.
"Yes. I know you're parents as well and I'm from the same place as you are." She responded.
"You must have me confused with someone else." He answered and started to close the door. She put her foot on it to stop him and said, "Dad, seriously, I know you're antisocial and all but seriously, I have your eyes and your mom's hair. If you don't believe me I can prove it. I need help getting back into my own time, now."
"Fine, come in and shut up about that stuff." He responded.
"You shut up. there's no one living on this hall besides you." She snapped.

"If what you say is true then you really shouldn't be talking to me like that." He responded.
"You're not my dad yet. In about eight years you will be, so can it. My mom is dead and I need to get to a certain point in time to stop it. So don't try being high and mighty with me, I'm not in the mood for it." She responded in a sour tone.
"What am I supposed to do to help? Can't you just tell me what happens and when the time comes I can stop it?" He asked.
"No. You aren't even there and have no way of getting there when it happens." She responded.

"OUT HERE!" she called back and her foster mother came out
"well how about you come help me with the groceries?"
"sure im coming." she said setting her painted down and following her inside
