He narrowed his eyes at her. "Why not?! I want a straight reason, Hitomi, or else I'll make you mine!" It was so frustrating. He wanted her to love him. He wanted somebody to love him!

As he shouted at her, the words sunk in deep. Hitomi clenched her small hands into tiny fists again, her teeth biting down hard on her liop. There were tears stinging behind her shut eyelids that she had no intention of letting escape. He'd already seen her bawling once, there was no reason to give him that pleasure again. No, she wouldn't let him assume her to be a weak little girl... Exhaling, she opened her eyes and smiled at him, gently. "Well," she began, "if I were to tell you why I don't like you, you--" her voice cracked here "--you'd strangle me again..."

Kisshu shook with anger and was about to strangle her again, but instead grit his teeth and slammed his fist into a tree. The wood shuddered and cracked underneath his fist as he fought to contain his anger. No. He couldn't break his toy yet. Of course she wouldn't love him, that was such a stupid assumption. No. She was merely there for his amusement; something fun to play with.
-x- ooc/ Larken-Samaaaaaaaaaaaa *sobs* Ugh I feel like shit. I've got a killer headache, double earache, sore throat, and aching joints. And I still have to go to school! Ugh...

As Kisshu crashed his fist into the trunk of a nearby tree, Hitomi couldn't help but flinch simply out of instinct. Head slightly low, she stuffed her hands into her pockets, guiltily. Now, she was frightened. Despite herself and the fascination with his breed, she seemed to constantly misplace the fact that he was NOT human. With just one wrong twitch of his finger, he could send her into a world of pain. Now, the fear was there. "Kisshu, calm down..."

He looked at her and realized he had scared her. "I...I'm sorry Hitomi." He sighed. "It's ok..." He reached his hand to touch her, then refrained. He didn't want to scare her. "I'm not gonna hurt you, darlin'."

Hitomi looked up at him solemnly with only her eyes. She stared at him for a moment, running through the options in her head. Why couldn't she force the smile like she normally could, to ease up the tension? Why couldn't she make the tingling feeling in her hands go away...? Was it because of him...? Even she couldn't tell. Damn fool... "I'm sorry..." Her eyes lowered to the ground as she exhaled a shaky breath.

"It's ok. It's my fault." He put his hands on her shoulders gently and looked down at her. He felt so guilty to have shaken her so badly. He looked her straight in the eyes. "I'm not gonna hurt you this time. It's ok."

Hitomi shook her head, shrugging off his hold. "Please, Kisshu, don't," she said, just above a whisper. "I don't like you that way, that's all there is to it." Nothing was going to convince her. He was a murderer. His hands were stained with invisible blood...

He let go of her, his face becoming sad. He shouldn't have hoped like that. He wanted to cry again, however, he kept on a brave face."I see..." He turned to leave. "I'm sorry then..."

That stabbing pain came back to Hitomi's chest as she noticed his expression. The pitiful sad face that she had tried so hard to deplete that first night had returned, his eyes glistening with tears. Only this time, it was her fault... She tightened up her fingers into a fist within the fabric of her pocket, gripping at the skirt's cotton as if it may supply some solution to this issue that she had yet to forsee. God, damn it all... "Ki-Kisshu, have you--" She swallowed hard "--have you killed people before?"

Kisshu stopped and turned back to look her in the eyes. "No." He said honestly. No one had died yet. Maybe he was a failure? He looked at the ground. "They always beat me..."

She bit her lip. So she was wrong. Then it wasn't criminal intent, nor terrorism, simply mental incapacity. There was something wrong with him in the head, but it wasn't quite so violent. Not yet, at least. Although, if he kept going on like this, in whatever way was causing him all this pain, Hitomi knew that he very well could end up killing someone. Someone else, or himself. There was only one choice now. Walking away would be shameful. She reached her arms out, wrapping them around his waist in a sisterly way from behind. Holding on, she said, "I don't think I can supply you with the kind of romance that you want, but... I could... I could, uhm..." What was it she was trying to say, exactly...?

Kisshu felt her arms go around his waist. "I don't think I can supply you with the kind of romance that you want, but... I could... I could, uhm..." His saddness went away a little. She was trying. For him, she was trying.
He closed his eyes, glad just to have her hold him. "It's ok." He murmured. "You don't have too..."

"It's okay. You don't have to..." Hitomi shook her head, burrying her cheek into the fabric of his shirt. He spoke nonsense. Of course she had to. After making such filthy assumptions, she at least owed him a little bit of compassion. She'd just have to be a little more careful with her words, so as not to set off that other side of him again. "Listen. I don't like you in that way, but I don't like to see anybody suffer, no matter what their intentions may be. I want you to smile instead of wear that ugly sad face... So, I guess... I could be your best friend for a while, until you take the Earth from us. And if... If the time should arise.. You can kill me for my soul, okay...?"

He blinked at her in shock. Had she really just said what he thought she did. He didn't expect that at all. "My...best friend...?" He smiled. "I'd like that. And I won't kill you." He told her. "You've grown on me I'm afraid."

Hitomi smiled, shutting her eyes and basking in the warmth that his back resonated to her cheek. "Okay... Best friends, it is, then..."

-x- "So, best friend," Kisshu turned and took her chin in his hand again. "How about a kiss?" He didn't see why she would refuse now that they were best friends. After all, she wasn't afraid of him anymore, right?

"So, best friend, how about a kiss?" He just didn't get it, did he? Hitomi chuckled. Just to tease him, she shut her eyes and stood up on her toes, acting as though she would plant one on him. Instead, she moved to the side, pecking him lightly on the cheek. "There you go."

Kisshu pouted. "That's no fair, Hika-Chan!" He gave her puppy eyes. "Why can't I have just one kiss? Just one, Hika-chan!"

Hitomi lifted her index finger up in a matter o fact way, smiling at him gently. "Beggers can't be choosers. Espessually after all you've put me through in the last not-even-twenty-four-hours, mister." She lowered her hand down, putting it back in her pocket. It was best this way. She didn't really like him all that much to begin with, so why did he keep assuming that she wanted to kiss him?

Kisshu sighed. Oh well. He'd just have to take what she'd give him. And he'd have to make her love him. He'd have to show her he was worth it. It seemed like it wouldn't be as lost of a cause as it was with Ichigo. After all, she had already given him an inch.
"All right. Fine..."

Hitomi spun on her heel and kneeled over, picking up her book bag and putting a few scattered items back inside from when he had suprised her. She felt so self concious about wearing the skirt that she kept smoothing it out behind her as she filled her bag up. Skirts were so awful sometimes! Espessually when they were required!

Kisshu helped Hitomi with her bag. She seemed uncomfortable about something, but he wasn't sure what. He gazed at her longingly. How he wished she would love him in return. He thought that maybe, with a little more effort he could show her just how much she was worth it. However, he didn't want her to hate him again, so he decided to back of...for to day.
"There you go, sweetheart."
