One night, as the seven year old read the letter from his elder brother, he heard yelling then a doorslam. He didn't understand, but four years later as he entered sixth grade, he finally found out his parents divorced because his dad met a girl in the U.S. during a work trip. As he wait for letters from Haku, which came later and later, he began hanging out with twin girls, Elizabeth and Patricia. After they graduated, they all moved in together and Len took three weeks to meet Haku's son and daughter. The girl knew him instantly but the oy simply glared.
