In an unknown city somewhere in the world...
It was four o clock in the afternoon when it all happened.
The cloudy sky was suddenly pierced by what appeared to be many meteors that trailed long white clouds in their wake like towers being built from the sky down.
They weren't meteors though...they were ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile- a devastating nuclear warhead).
Panic was everywhere.
Some people scrambled for subways and buildings nearest them.
Others just stood where they were frozen in fear.
Then...there was a great flash followed gradually by a tsunami of flame and smoke.
The entire city was eventually engulfed by the blast.
Everyone caught in its wake was dissintegrated into ash...
Those who made it to safety heard the loudest and most terrifying boom a living human can every hear.
It seemed as if the sound reverberated for the next hour...
The sun was blocked by smoke and dust and everything fell dark....and cold.
Three hours later, the survivors began to emerge from their hiding spots.
Our attention now turns to a long street within the downtown streets.
A lone figure clad in a long dark trench coat was treading down the middle of the street. He was examining piles of rubble and ruined cars for survivors. So far, he had found none. He continued his walk.

A cough cam from underneath a pile of rubble, "Ugh...What..?" It was a young girl's voice. Suddenly there was a gasp, she let out a scream as she tried to pry her way out, eventually, she got to the top, covered in deep gashes and breathing heavily, relieved. "O-Ow.." She was claustrophic.

The enigma paused and looked over to where he saw the girl on the sidewalk. He had a pistol in his hand, but it was lowered.
"Ýé ... Òû â ïîðÿäêå?" He said peering over at her. He was speaking in Russian
(but something just had to mess the Russian language characters all up)

She looked up, covering a cut in her arm, "What?" she cocked an eyebrow and stood shakily up. The girl looked around, "What happened here...?"

"Oh, so you speak English...?" Came the voice again. It was a young and fair one, with barely any Russian accent at all. The young man walked over to the girl. "Are you ok? Are you injured anywhere?" He said visually examining her body for any bruises or lacerations. His face was now visible and his figure trim but solid. He was exactly six feet tall and appeared to be in his late teens. (This is what he looks like his profile will come later):

"No. I'm just cut from head to toe.." she murmured, looking around her, she didn't look as bad as she thought, but still pretty bad. "What...Happened here?" she asked him, figuring he knew. She tried to ignore a growing pain in her back.

"Wait just a moment. You are injured. You've got a bit of blood on your head. Allow me to treat that before we get moving." The young man pulled out a small bit of sterile gauze from a bag on his utility belt. He applied it to the girl's forehead. "We cannot stay here in the street for much longer."
The air was now dust-heavy from the explosion and a wind was making it almost like a dust storm.

She looked up at him, then nodded, "Thank you.." she mumured, coughing a bit. Her hair was a mess and her face was dirty. Her back began to throb. "Ow.."

"Careful now, you might have fractured a vertebrae or something critical. Can you walk?" he asked the girl moving behind her as if to support her if she fell.

"Y-Yeah.." she nodded, taking a step and nearly tripping, but catching herself. "Thank you though." A large cut went through her back. She looked at him for a moment, studying him, then finally asked, "Why are you not harmed as well? Everything looks in ruins...I don't see anyone else around..and anyone who is.." it caught in her throat. Were people dead?

"I am one of the few who found respite at a subway at the time of the attack. I fled that crowd hours after the explosion for fear of discovery..." he said looking around, seeing if anyone was watching them. "I feel that it is not safe here. We must leave at once." Then, a strange clicking sound came from inside the man's coat. "It's just as I've feared. Some of the dust is already radioactive. We need to find cover before we encounter any giant clouds of radiation." He then laid a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Can you walk?" he asked again.

"Yes..."Axelle murmured, "Thank you..But...What attack? I don't understand. " she said softly. "Radioactivity?" she was full of questions.

"You must not be a resident of this town....Well, neither am I." he began. The clicking sound continued. There was a higher frequency of clicks this time. "The radiation level has increased. We need to get moving- now. If we don't get moving, we'll catch radiation sickness. Since you appear to be wounded, I must carry you to safety." He said. Then without another word, the enigmatic young man picked Axelle up without warning and began to carry her away in his arms from the sidewalk and into the middle of the road.

"Gah!" The girl twitched, obviously surprised by the action. "I-I'll be fine. I said I could walk!" she was really not comfortable being the close to a person, let alone a man.

"If you can walk, then show me that you have some strength." Said the young man looking into Axelle's eyes then setting her down. "If you fall behind me, then you must survive on your own. I've been well trained in urban survival so you might want to keep up to learn some tricks." said the young man striding ahead.

She twitched, the pain in her back grew slightly worse again, but determined, she nodded, "F-Fine." she had to jog to keep up with him. "I'm Axelle." she said suddenly, attempting to introduce herself. She eerie silence slightly scared her.

"...If you want a name, just call me Volk." said the young man now moving to the other side of the road. "Over here." he said pointing to a low opening. After descending a five step flight of steps, he walked up to a metal door that was beneath a low awning. After tapping it to see if it was locked, he drew his pistol then kicked the door open.

"Okay Volk.." She murmured. The girl flinched a bit as he kicked the door in, then looked around, wondering what the place was.

"Hasten. Now." said Volk in a highly imperative tone. He now carried his pistol in one hand and a small but powerful flashlight in the other. It illuminated a big portion of the room. Thankfully, only a small bit of the ceiling in the middle of the room had caved in. Volk was now in a combat-ready stance as if he were expecting an attack from any side in that dark room.

Her eyes wandered around as Axelle stayed close to him, "...." she stayed quiet, the only sound coming from her was the sound of her breathing in and out.

(sorreh about the late reply)
"Stay close to me. I'm the only one with a weapon." said Volk lowering his voice. The two of them slowly crept their way through the ruined room. Volk approached a door and silently put his ear to it. After sitting there for a minute, he slowly turned the handle, then quickly threw open the door. A horror lie on the other side of the door. A business man was laying pinned to the ground. He had been impaled by concrete rebar in the chest because the upper floor had collapsed here. His white suit shirt was stained red with blood and the man's face was pale. "Be silent." whispered Volk, "I have a feeling that that man's corpse is rigged with a trap. Let us keep our distance." Volk approached the corpse slowly and with the uttermost caution.

(i missed you by seriously 20 minutes =_= *emo facepalm*)
Axelle covered her mouth with her hands looking up at Volk, then nodded, trying her best not to look at it and following him. She looked as if she would be sick, not used to seeing such things.
