Aya felt Ren part and rest his forehead against hers but it slipped and rested on her shoulder. His back was arched and his temples rested in the crook of her neck.
"I-I don't know what I was thinking..." Ren whispered.
Aya took her hand and rested it on his back. Aya's eyes softened as she rubbed his back. She needed to ease his trembling. It's what she felt when she was holding the cloth to his wound.
'You were ALWAYS there, ALWAYS perfect.' Eioku echoed through her mind.
Aya inhaled sharply and removed her hand from Ren's back. Aya's eyes widened.
'Ren and Leo... You stole them away, too. Everyone. Everyone I ever loved, loved you more.'
Aya started to peice it together. She couldn't believe she hadn't seen it. Eioku was in love with Ren and Ren had fallen for...
'Damn it. It is my fault.' Aya thought, as she pressed her body against Ren with tears once again coming from her eyes.

"I don't know why she did what she did, all I know is that's what happened...." Leo said looking at the ground as he balled his hand into a fist. "Why did she join him after she wouldn't let me go with him in the first place...?" He asked himself.

"There's not much that we can do now," Anna declared, stepping back into the living room. "We'll have to wait. You boys will see her in the second round. She didn't lose any of her preliminary fights." She rubbed her temples with two fingers, sighing loudly. "Geez, what a pain... That girl had better know what she's getting herself into."

Ren slowly calmed himself, pulling upward to sit up straight. "Aya, you're passing on to the second round of the Shaman Fight, aren't you?" He asked, his voice just above a whisper.

"I will go get Eioku back, but if I want any hope of getting to her I need to join Hao..." Leo explained. "If I do that I can get close to Eioku and might be able to help her if she gets into trouble..."

"Yeah." Aya whispered.
Aya nodded and wiped her face.
"Ren, what are we going to do about Eioku? It's my fault and it's my responsibility to make it right but she won't listen to me. All because-"
Aya stopped. It was apparent Eioku didn't tell Ren how she felt but it wasn't her place to say a thing.

"Because I like you." Aya whispered, looking into Ren's eyes.
She knew this was only a half-truth. Aya rested her hand on the side of his face.
"She thinks that I'm taking all the attention, that I'm perfect, that no one cares about her. It's all my fault." Aya whispered.

Anna clenched her hands up into fists. "No," she said, sharply. "No, I can't allow that Leo. There are so many ways that you could be killed. And I won't pit you against us, no matter what the circumstances. It's just not an option. NO."

Ren, quivering under the feel of her hand, began to say something, but was interupted by a loud buzzing noise. The oracle pager...

Aya's oracle pager began to ring too with a customized music tone. She looked at it place on her hip and pulled it from her belt loop. She looked at Ren and he was staring at his own.
'What now?' Aya thought.

The edges of Ren's mouth curled into a satisfied smile.
"Looks like the information for where Round 2 is being held. Tokyo Fair Grounds, apparently... The Patch are such a joke..." He said, quietly, stopping the beeper on the oracle pager.

"Damn. Well, how are we gonna do this when you have a whole in your stomach?" Aya asked, storing the message.
Aya sighed and looked at Tori who just shrugged. Aya's stomach started growling and she quickly tried to silence the growl.
"When do you get the hospital food? I'm hungry." Aya stated.

Yoh, about to say something, thought it would be better not to. Walking down into the hall, a large beeping frightened him, causing him to jump slightly in the air. He stared at his oracle bell. "The second round of the Shaman Tournament has begun." Kaze said to him as he walked down the stairs.
Houka stared at his oracle bell, not even twitching. He chuckled slightly. "I think we're gonna be meeting you're sap squad Eioku", he said as he sniggered, "the second round has begun."

Eioku smiled down at her wrist, silencing the pager's irritating sound. She could only imagine how great it would feel to look at Aya's face, holding her fans out, ready to fight Eioku with no intention of death. But... Eioku wouldn't hold back.
"I'm going to kill them," she said to herself.

Houka moved his sunglasses down to his nose, just staring at Eioku. "You are the most screwed up child I have ever known..." He said grimly. "I'm starting to think of you as a little sister."

Aya sighed and looked at Ren.
"Well, we'll have to be on our toes if we want to get Eioku back." Aya stated, faking a smile.
Eioku was going to be the death of her. Aya knew that she couldn't kill her but Eioku was different. Aya didn't want to face her at all.

"Little sister, huh?" Eioku said, lying down on her back, her arms sprawled out. "I've heard that a few times before..."
She rolled over on to her side, trying desperately not to let her thoughts wander to Leo, or to Ren. No, they didn't matter anymore. Why should she care about people who could never understand? Houka and Hao understood, she could already tell.
"Just don't kiss me. Okay?" There was pride missing from her tone.

Ren sighed, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and standing up. "I'm not staying in here another minute. I don't care about this petty little wound right now," he said, patting her head. "Let's get out of here and stop off somewhere for you to eat, alright?"

Anna shook her head. "We're not going to risk it," she said, sternly. "Hao changes people, Leo. You could very well end up the same way that my sister is, and we can't have that. You would try to kill us, kill her, and most importantly, you'd try to kill Yoh. And for that, I'D have to kill you."

"I'm sorry Anna, I knew I shouldn't have told you my plan... but it's something I have to do..." Leo said as he looked at his Oracle bell and teleported off to where it told him to go.

Aya looked at Ren and touched where his wound was. She sighed and closed her eyes.
"I guess there's no way for me to talk you out of it." Aya responded.
She walked over to the heart monitor and I.V. and began to disconnect. She wrapped Ren's arm with a peice of the sheet she tore off. Aya looked at him and smiled.
"So are you paying for the meal or am I?" Aya asked with a grin.

Ren looked at her with a blank face. "I'll just have them charge it out to my parentals. Right now, though, you and I are leaving." He said, rubbing the spot where the needle had penetrated his skin. With an already seemingly healed step, he made his way across the room and slid his shirt from before over his shoulders. Of course, the stupid hospital staff couldn't have been courteous enough to have washed the blood out for him, so it was completely stained. "Let's just get out of here."

Anna turned away and left for the hotspring in the backyard. "Fine then. I hope he enjoys a slow and painful death at my hand when he knocks you out cold, Yoh," she said, dryly.

Aya looked at him and sighed.
"I could pay for it. I had a job before I came here." Aya responded.
Aya walked pass Ren and stood by the door. She giggled and turned to Ren.
"You better be ready to run. Once the nurses see you out of bed, we're gonna have to high-tail it out of there." Aya stated.
