Leo's eyes went wide as he heard those words and then started to get up. "I can't go to a hospital, I'll head for the Inn..." He said as he made his way to the door.

Eioku looked up to Houka.
"Uh, hey..." She said, quietly. "About trying to strangle you earlier... I'm sorry. I really don't know what came over me."

Eioku pouted, looking away. No apology, no nothing. Stupid jerk.
"Well, Miss Kyoyama," Hao said, leaning forward a bit. "You say you want to join our ranks, but why is that? Would you like to tell me your story?"
Eioku bit her lip, pulling her legs up to her chest. "They always pushed me behind them, always shielding me from everything. Never letting me make something of myself. I don't want sympathy for my past, I want encouragement for the future. They failed to deliver that... So I'm coming to you."

"I don't want love," Eioku said, sharply. "I want... A chance to prove that I can be something. I'm sick of being the damsel in distress. You can hate me, Houka, I don't care. Just don't stand in my way." She looked up to him, smiling cockily.

Nikki sat on Eioku's shoulder, tears in her eyes. "E-Eioku," she began in a childish voice. "My Lady, is this really what you want?"
"It is," Eioku replied, quietly.
Hao smiled, putting the stick back into the fire. "What's your medium?"
"Carbon Dioxide."

"Wait." Aya called.
Leo stopped and looked at Aya. She was trying to keep Ren from bleeding too much and it had slowed somewhat.
"Could you stay until the ambulance comes?" Aya whispered.

Aya nodded and turned to Ren. She looked up when she heard sirens and she handed Leo her fans.
"Be careful. Alright?" Aya begged.

Aya heard sirens and remained holding the rag. She heard people run up the stairs and saw police and medics. They saw the room was destroyed. Aya was holding the wound and she looked up at them.
"Ma'am, are you the one who called the hospital?" The police asked.
"Yes." Aya responded.
Aya watched the paramedics strap Ren to a stretcher and took him away. Aya stood in the door and watched them pull him into the EMT. Aya then felt a sigh and saw the police with a notepad.
"Ma'am. If we could get a statement-" They said.
Aya nodded. After numerous questions the police left and Aya sighed. She began to walk away from the hotel room. She needed to go to the hospital. Aya walked to the Inn and to the room where she had stayed. She changed to a black t-shirt and washed her hands. She turned to the door and sat down to put on her shoes.

Aya walked out the door and saw Leo sitting in the tree. Aya sighed. This day wasn't shaping up the way she had hoped. Aya walked out of the gate and toward the hospital. She slowed her pace and dropped her head.
"Milady. Are you worried about what transpired?" Tori asked.
"Yeah. I can't believe I said that to her. We were starting to be really good friends." Aya replied.
Tori sighed. Aya walked into the hospital and to the front desk. She asked for Ren's room but the nurse told her he was still in surgery. Aya sat down and waited the entire day.

Long after the surgery hours, Ren awoke. He sat up, abruptly in the bed, looking around. A white room, white sheets covering him, and a heart monitor tracking his every movement. A hospital. "Wh-Wha-- NO!!" He shouted, slamming his hands down on the bed. "WHAT HAPPENED?!! NO!!"
Where was Leo? That stranger? Where the hell was Eioku?
"Damn it! NO!!"

Ushio slowly approached the campfire where her Lord was resting for the night. Her eyes flitted upward, noticing a new female sitting between Hao and that other man. What was his name, anyway? Regardless...
"Hao-Samma," she said, her voice light and musical, "I've scoped the perimeter twice."

Leo finally healed his wounds from the fight and was now sitting in the tree resting his body.
"Leo what you did was reckless and foolish, what were you thinking fighting someone so much more experienced than you?" Blood asked, not believing he could act this way.
Leo glared at Blood, not wanting to hear this from her. "I did it because I care about Eioku, if you were kidnapped I would do the exact same for you."
"But Leo she-" Blood tried to explained.
"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!" He yelled. "I'm going to save Eioku from Hao, and I'm going to make her happy somehow.... that much I promise." He said with anger flowing through his body as his eyes turned red.
Blood knew what was happening, his feelings were taking the better of him... it wasn't a good sign.

Hao smiled over at Ushio, waving. "Hello there," he said. "I told you that nothing was out there, little Ushio. There's no need to be so restless all of the time." He lifted an arm, patting Eioku on the shoulder. "Meet your newest comrade. This is Eioku Kyoyamma. She's a Shaman Tournament participant, too."
Eioku looked up to the little girl, instantly drawing back a bit. What a hostile looking kid!

Aya stood up and saw the doctor come out of the ER. The doctor looked at her and walked by and a nurse began to speak with him. Aya was worried and the doctor looked at her. He nodded to the nurse. He walked over to Aya and smiled.
"I take you're his friend?" The man stated.
"Yes." Aya replied.
"Well, your friend is in the recovery room and he should come to in a moment."
Aya was relieved and she was given the room number. Aya walked and saw the doctor was right. Ren was up but the look on his face was what she felt inside. Defeated and weak.
"Ren?" She whispered.

Kaze sat on Eioku's bed. He hadn't left her room since she was taken. He punched the broken closet as he gritted his teeth. Yoh came up the stairs, leaning in the door looking at him. "I wasn't any help at all." Kaze said in an upset tone.
"None of us knew what was going on." Yoh replied.
"He had a gun! We should have heard it!"
"It was a form of spirit con-"
"WE SHOULD HAVE HEARD IT!" Kaze was now standing, so mad that he couldn't even look at his friend. He stormed out of Eioku's room and Yoh watched him leave. Yoh was upset, even though he would seldom show it.

Anna sighed, taking a few steps into Eioku's bedroom, her arms folded over her chest. "Well, Yoh, what do we do now?" She asked him. "Are you going to go after her?"

Aya walked to the bed and sat down. She looked at Ren with heavy eyes and rested her hand on his. He was trembling.
"Eioku... is gone." Aya whispered, "She joined Hao."

"Yoh, don't," Anna said, following after him in a few sharp movements. She took a tight hold on his sleeve, pulling him to a stop. "I don't want you going, Yoh."

Ren's eyes widened, his face fading to a desperate look of agony. "No... Good God, no..." He exhaled. His head dropped, and he slowly flipped his hand upward to link fingers with Aya. "He took her... That bastard gunman took her..."
