On a wet, pouring night in Tokyo; On a night when the stars hid behind gray clouds, and the moon hid away from the creatures far below... The shadow of a young woman sleaked through the rain, holding herself up with the support of the concrete wall of an alleyway. She could not decipher the difference between her own tears and the rain droplets dripping down her cheeks, falling gently from her lashes to her shirt. An immense physical pain ailed her underneath her thick sweater, a new bruise delivered not by her lover, but by the dealer from whom she'd received her lover's stress relief. The drug, packed safely in a packet underneath her shirt. Before she could even make it out into the open, Cricket dropped to her knees, her vision fading in and out of black. She couldn't feel the pain in her throat anymore, but she could taste the blood on her tongue. The dealers were behind her, and she could hear them chuckling, their voices slowly echoing in and out. Her head was throbbing at this point, the rainwater feeling less like rain and more like hard pebbles falling on her head. "Ow..." She whispered, pressing her forehead to the ground below. Her ribcage where they'd hit her stung like all hell, feeling like it was going to flat out pierce out into the open from underneath her skin. In that moment, she could hear his footsteps, sounding far away. "It hurts, Vapor..." "I know it does," he said, a smile hanging on his voice as he lightly rubbed her back. "We need to get you back home now. Those cuts aren't going to clean themselves, and the rainwater isn't going to help you. Understand?" "Mm hmm..." "Good girl... Come on, now, before they come after me, too."

Kisshu sighed as it rained on him. The sky was unmerciful as it drenched him, not caring that he was to depressed to move from his spot. His Koneko-chan had been particularly cruel in her refusal today, and it had set the cogs in his mind spinning. Why did he torture himself over her? Why let his heart break time and time again? He sighed as he looked down at the world through the pouring rain. Why hadn't he taken it yet? Why did he have to hold back?

Vapor lifted Cricket up from the ground, letting her lean on him. "It's alright. You just have to breathe now, okay? Move forward." Cricket let her head drop, using her lover's full support to keep herself standing. Her vision was still blackening, her head growing heavier and heavier. He pulled her forward out to the car and yanked open the door. She couldn't even see by the time she had fallen into her seat, his hands gently moving over her waist to fasten her seatbelt. All she could see was his dark shadow underneath the streetlight, reminding her of a demon she had seen in a nightmare days ago. A hefty moan escaped her throat as her head lolled to the side. "Don't die on me, okay?" Vapor said, sweetly, kissing her forehead.

Kisshu watched as there was a commotion below him. A group of men chasing a girl her trying tragically to escape the pain they were bringing to her. Humans were so disgusting, harming each other like that. They were all of the same race, were they not? A boy was trying to help the girl, but he wasn't very good at it. Kisshu debated interfering. Sure, she was a human, but she was also cute and saving her may give him a chance to play with her himself. Besides, it would distract him.

"You got what I wanted, didn't you?" Vapor asked, gently. Cricket could only moan and weakly look up at him, her eyes refusing to dialate correctly. Vapor tensed, raising a forceful hand up to her chin, grabbing on to her face. "Answer me," he demanded, sharply. "I got it... I got it..." Cricket whispered. "Under... under the... sweater..."

Kisshu watched as the other boy handled the poor girl roughly. That was what did it for him. He flew down to the two, stepping in front of them and glaring at the boy. "Let go of her!"

Vapor looked up from Cricket's bruised and battered face, up to a new figure that had shouted at him. He laughed at the guy, at his appearance. "Cosplayer come to play the hero, huh? That's Japan for you," he said, shaking Cricket's shoulder a bit. "Eh, Crickie?" His eyes narrowed down on the newcomer's, which appeared to be shielded by golden contacts. As he spoke, his nimble fingers slipped underneath Cricket's sweater, yanking out the small bag and stuffing it into his pocket. "Who do you think you're trying to mess with?"

Kisshu didn't reply, merely materialized his weapons. He glared. "You best let her go, dumbass, or I'll cut you to ribbons." He would have a pretty new toy very, very soon.

Vapor lifted his hands in the air, grinning. "Wo-ho, buddy," he said, laughing out loud. "I asked her a question and she refused to answer. That's all." He stuffed his hands into his coat pockets and smirked up at him. "You had better run along to your little sci-fi convention, bro. My girl and I need to get home."

Kisshu's eyes narrowed as he smirked cruelly. "Jackasses like you are the reason I'm glad we're taking over." He said, reaching his hand out for the boy. "And it gets better; your spirit will help me do it. That's called situational irony, fuck face."

Vapor's eyes widened as he felt a deep pain in his chest. He exhaled every bit of breath in his lungs, taking a small step forward to steady himself. "Nngh...!! What the hell...?!!" He snapped his head over to the girl in the passenger's seat of the car. "CRICKET!! HELP ME!!" Cricket, however, was already completely unconcious, a bit of blood seeping down her cheek from a wound underneath her hair. "You bitch...!!"

Kisshu, still pulling at the young man's spirit, kicked him. "Don't talk to her that way, goddammit!" He growled. "She's injured!"

In a daze, Vapor reached inside of his jacket pocket, yanking out a loaded pistol. He drearily pulled the trigger twice in his direction, missing each time. "God, damn you...!!" He shouted, falling to his knees. In an instant, he was completely unconcious on the ground, his forehead pressed flat against the asphalt road.

Kisshu was about to finish taking the boy's spirit when he remembered that the boy and girl were being chased. Knowing that time was precious, he took the girl in his arms and teleported away with her, bringing her to his room. Once he got her there, he tended to her wounds. "And now the games begin."

Cricket awoke, tears pouring down her cheeks as her eyelids fluttered open. "Oh, God..." She moaned, lifting a hand up to her forehead to touch a wound. She gasped, suprised to feel the cloth of a tightly-wound bandage. Sitting up, she examined other various wounds on her arms, also wrapped up and cleaned completely. "Wh-What...? Vapor!!" She called out to the door across the room.

Kisshu heard her cry out and figured that it was his cue. He walked in the room, smiling gently. "Hey there. You're awake. Are you alright, honey?" He crossed the room slowly, so as not to frighten her.

Cricket squinted in the dark at the shadowy figure. She had only a mild memory of seeing this man before, but his face, covered in the shadows of the flickering candlelight, only made her head hurt. "Wh-... Wh--...?"

"Shh, shh, shh," He gently put a hand to her forehead, trailing it lightly down her cheek. "It's alright. Relax. I'm gonna take good care of you, darlin'. Those nasty men and that goddamn jackass won't hurt you again." He said softly. Her discomfort was obvious, and he could sense that she still needed rest. "Just relax. You'll be safe here." He needed her to trust him; needed her to recover. Then, when she was, his fun would finally begin.

Cricket pulled back, forcing her face away from his hand. She tightly gripped at the bedsheets, staring at him with intense eyes. "Where is the man I was with?! Where's Vapor?!" She snapped, quickly.

"Don't worry;" Kisshu sighed. "I didn't kill him, though I would have liked to with the way he was treating you."

Cricket bit her lip, hard. Wherever Vapor was, she had a distinct, gut feeling that he was NOT comfortable. She sat up on her knees, getting ready to leap off of the bed completely. "Where is he?! I want to see him!" She shouted, her grip on the comforter beneath her growing tighter and tighter.

"Hey, hey," Kisshu tried to pacify her, putting gentle hands on her shoulders. "Calm down. You need to rest, darlin'. Your injuries are bad." He told her softly. "Let's get you all fixed up and then we can get you to this Vapor guy you keep talkin' about." He tried to soothe her. "For now, hows about you just take care of yourself, okay?"

"Keep your hands off of me!!" Cricket shouted, flinching away at his touch. She thrust her arms behind her and stood up straight, glaring down at him. "Where is he?! Tell me, right now! I need to see him!!" Her hands clenched into fists at her sides.

Kisshu was surprised by the force in her voice. It was frustrating, but he couldn't hurt her yet. "When I left him, he was still in the alleyway. But that was last night, sweetheart. Who knows where he is now?"

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!" Cricket turned on her heel and bolted for the door, clearly in a stage of desperation and paranoia.
