"Why am I...different...?" She shook her head sadly. "I dunno. Ask the rest of the race. They're the ones who always shunned me. Because of that, I didn't learn to think like the crowd, I had no mob mentalities to influence me. I was stumbling blindly around trying to make decisions on my own. I THOUGHT the humans were wrong, I THOUGHT I should do something, but I never did. And then I met you, and I KNEW. And I suddenly wasn't afraid to act on what I felt, actually it made sense to. It was like I could finally see, y'know?"

"Hearing those words spill from those beautiful lips puts an acrid taste in my mouth," Kisshu said, darkly, leaning his face inward to make better eye contact with her. "You, Alice, you are different because you are better. You are far more intelligent, you have an aesthetic personality that is absolutely exhilerating. Do you understand what I'm saying to you?"

"No." She admitted honestly. "But it seems my lack of understanding merely mirrors yours, so perhaps we were just made for each other." She said. Her blush increased as he leaned closer to her face. "So let's make a deal; I'll stop putting myself down if you'll do the same."

"I'm not the one putting myself down," he said, softly. "I'm holding you down, it seems, but I'm not putting myself down." He pressed his forehead against hers and stared deeply down into her eyes. "Compliment yourself once a day. It helps."

"I refuse. I will not unless you admit that you don't pull me down, but up. When you can admit that, I will say something utterly and sickeningly nice about myself. However, until then, I'd appreciate it if you'd stop trying to intimidate me." She flipped them so that she was on top of him. "Now the tables are turned, with me having the advantage. And unfortunately for you, I'm afraid I'm not one to let someone get away with tickling me. The name of the game is revenge, and I'm the mvp right now, darling." She poised herself, ready to get back at him. "However, I'm a bit nicer than you, so I'll give you from five to one. Five..."

Kisshu raised an eyebrow at her. Did she really think that it was going to work that way? Silly girl. Before the next number could escape from her silken lips, he pressed his mouth down on to hers and forced her into a kiss. He had to remind himself thoroughly around this girl of who he was, what he was capable of.

Alice smirked. Oh no...he wasn't getting his way that easily. He was just going to have to accept that she wasn't backing down on this one. While she loved the aggressive kiss he had forced her into, she wasn't going to let it distract her as it normally did. She kissed him back, letting him think he'd won, for a short while. Then, making sure he would know she was in control, she puled away. "Nice try, hot stuff. Not gonna work this time, though. You'll have to bring a lot more to the table than that." She grinned at him. "Four,three...." She taunted.

"And just what are you planning on doing? I have power over you. Don't forget that." His tone was incredibly dark, his grip on her shoulders tightening with every number she spoke. He hated it when girls tried to take command over him, espessually ones that he was with at the time. Things were getting to tense in his life to deal with this kind of treatment, and it took a lot not to throw her down the stairs for that cocky look in her eyes. "You can't beat me."

His tone was becoming less and less playful with each number she ticked off. "Two..." She gave him a sad glance. "You're really mad, aren't you? You can tease me, but I can't tease you back?" She sighed, getting up off him and turning away. "And here I was feeling better too..."

"I'm sorry," Kisshu said quickly, sitting up. It sounded rather forced though, as if it were just to make the subject drop. He sighed, standing on the top step. "That was my bad, I suppose." It's not as though he would flat out say that she irked him when she tried to act dominant. She was NOT dominant. Not in THIS relationship.

She sighed, shaking her head. "No, I get the feeling that I crossed some sort of boundary that I shouldn't have." She ran a hand through her hair. "It's alright. It was odd trying to be dominate anyways...it doesn't suit me much..."

Kisshu blinked, his eyes softening as they closed and reopened. He sighed with a small chuckle, letting his fingertips glide down to the back of her head. Taking a small lock of hair into his hands, he said, "Do you want any help with dinner? We had a lot going on today... mmh?"

Alice fully relaxed as he took some of her hair into his hands. "If you'd like to help, you may. It shouldn't be too bad, as long as I don't lose it again...that was so weird...." She shook her head, forcing the thoughts away. "You're right though; today was...eventful..." She turned to him, smiling softly. "But you know...I'm not sure that's a bad thing entirely." She murmured thoughtfully. "I feel like I learned a lot today."

Kisshu smiled at her, running his hand fully through her hair. He used his free hand to reach down to her, his fingers twitching as a beckoning. "Come on," he said in a hushed tone. "Let me help you up. I'll go start heating up the stove, and you decide what the heck we're making. Okay?"

Alice smiled. He was so loving and affectionate, so perfect. "Alright." She smiled, standing up. Yes...he was perfect...

Kisshu lifted her up on her feet with one swift mood, leading her inside the house. "Alright... What temperature should I set it for?"

"Medium. You're proud of yourself for knowing how to use the stove, aren't you?" She teased. It was nice to let him take the wheel again. "What would you like, Kisshu? Since I gave away your breakfast, the least I could do is let you choose dinner."

"Ugh... Anything hot," he said, still mildly haunted by the agonizing pain that the icecream had brought to his head. Never again, hell no. He latched his fingers around the dial on the stove and clicked it over to the icon that read 'Medium.' "Say, Alice, where did you learn to cook, anyway?"

Alice tried desperately to think of some way to avoid the question without alerting him. Really, that wasn't much of a possibility. He was too perceptive to just straight-up not speak. What was she supposed to tell him thought; I had to learn how after I ran away from that place? Then she'd have to explain and that would be hard. After as much as they had gone through this was just another bridge she wished would burn already. 'Well, I guess I'll just have to lie...shouldn't be too hard...I've been lying to everyone else all this time...' "My mother taught me." Alice beamed at him. "Mama taught me lots of useful things." The false words left a sour taste on her tongue as she began preparing ramen, making it from scratch instead of from a package.

Kisshu could sense it. The delayed pause in her words said it all. However, if that's the way she was going to be, he'd force it out of her. In his own way. "Oh, really? That's cool," he said, leaning backwards on to the counter, soon lifting himself on his arms to sit there. "Where'd you guys live?"

"Back in America." Jesus, I wish he'd stop asking me questions! "In New York." She kept her hands busy and a happy smile on her features, but her mind was aching as she was forced to remember the truth. Why couldn't she just tell him? He wouldn't care. Perhaps it was the irrational fear that once she admitted it, she would never be safe from it again... How she wished her protector could know, could keep her safe from the nightmares that haunted her, but there was no way she'd be able to get the words to escape her lips.
ooc/ Whoot! I finally know Alice's past! -Dances-

Kisshu looked down to the floor, processing her words. Trying to figure out if it was a lie through her teeth or just a simple cover up for something greater. "Hmm... I see... New York, huh?" He looked up to her with a gentle smile, in an attempt to create a brisk atmosphere and aura for himself. "Was she pretty?"

"Was she pretty?" Alice wanted to cry, but she forced away her pain and kept up her. "Yeah. She was gorgeous." She sighed. "Mama was the best." This part wasn't entirely a lie. Her mother had, indeed, been beautiful. She just, wasn't the best...

Alice looked to him, his eyes soft, his tone gently. She felt the tears she had fought so hard spill over her eyes. "She couldn't love me...even though I tried so hard for her....it wasn't enough...she let them take me....how could she let them take me?" Feeling another mental breakdown quickly approaching, she moved the ramen off the burner before it could burn. She then buried her face in her hands, her body shaking with her sobs.
