"Don't cry, Alice," Kisshu said, quickly, not looking at her. "Please, please don't make this harder on me than it already is..." He teleported away, reappearing in his bedroom. Collapsing on the bed, he buried his face into the pillow, letting a shower of tears drip from his eyes down into the cotton. She was gone. What was his sister feeling right now? Was she as upset as he was? No, it had to be worse than that for her... What had been the cause? Starvation...? Hyperthermia...?

Alice watched Kisshhu leave and felt like dying. This was her people's fault. They had done this to her lover. She looked up, her eyes narrowing. This was all THEIR fault! Alice ground her teeth, longing to lash at something. She calmed her anger, for now, and instead ran off to find Kisshu. First she needed to comfort him. She could rip the mew mews apart with her teeth later. Alice ran down the halls to where he remembered his room being. She opened the door to find him crying on his bed. Carefully she sat on the edge, pulling his head to lie it in her lap. She stroked his hair. "I'm sorry, Kisshu. So sorry. It's alright; cry as much as you need. I'm right here for you."

Kisshu's eyes leaked many, many tears, but his face was completely expressionless. "I can't believe she's gone..." He whispered. "We should have had this place conquered by now..." Burrying his face into her lap, he said, "It's my fault... If I hadn't had been so swooned by my hormones, I could have taken Ichigo out months ago, and this never would have happened..." He wrapped an arm around her waist, bringing himself upward into a sitting position.

"It's ok, Kisshu. I'm here; let me help! I'll do anything. Say the word. I'll...I'll kill her for you if you ask me to..." Alice promised him, meaning every word.

Kisshu looked at her with a stare of agony. He leaned forward to place his forehead against her shoulder. "I can't ask that of you... I don't want to dirty your hands with blood for my selfish gain..." He could stain his own soul with murderous crimes, he could run a blade across somebody's skin for the pleasure of it, but he wasn't so cruel as to take pleasure in watching Alice ruin her life.

"Kisshu, she's hurt you..." Alice noticed that there was a growl in her voice. "Believe me, I would love nothing more than to sink my teeth into her and tear her apart!" She tried to stop the anger that was rolling through her. Kisshu was suffering...he needed her....

"Shut up..." Kisshu whispered. "Shut up... Shut up... Shut up..." Don't you understand? Just by being here with me you're committing an absolute sin against your people... Against your own existance... Why would I ask you to do something like that? He didn't want to voice the opinion and hurt her emotional pride. Instead, he just held on to her, his eyes pouring the regret out like a broken faucet. "Shut up... Shut up... Shut up..."

Alice felt his pain hit her like a crashing wave. She gasped. His agony had just doubled...but why? She held him closer. He was upset with her again....but why? She was trying so hard to help him...she wanted so badly to save his people for him. Then it struck her. He was all about loyalty. Loyalty to one's race... "Kisshu...please, don't be upset. This isn't something that you've changed in me; I've always been disgusted by the human race. They ignore the cries of the earth as they kill it, they do not feel it tremble under their abuse....Kisshu, please..." She rubbed his back, trying to soothe him. "I wish I could have been born to your people, so there would be no conflict for you."

Kisshu buried his face into her shirt, holding tightly on to her shirt. "I love you..." He whispered. "I love you... so much..." He clutched her tightly as he started to let the sobs out. It all hurt... so much... Not only emotional, but physical. The tension in his muscles was too much to bear, the headache building up in his head pounding at his skull as if it would penetrate all forces holding it back within minutes. "I love you..."

"I love you too." She assured him. "I love you more than anything else in this world. And I promise, I will stand by your side proudly WHEN we win this planet for your people." He held him as he sobbed, stroking his hair and rubbing his back, trying to comfort him as best she could. She kissed the top of his head. "I will ALWAYS be here, with you, at your side...if that's what you want."

Kisshu sat there crying on her for what seemed like forever, eventually pulling himself away. He placed his hands gently on her shoulders, smiling at her with a great thanks. "She's in a better place now. At least now I know that she's not suffering anymore, and she never will again..." The smile in his eyes truly was there, but there were still a few tears wanting to leap out. There would always be a stabbing pain in his chest when he thought about it, but at least she was alright now...

Alice was relieved to see him smiling again. She nodded. "You're right." She took his face gently in her hands and kissed him softly. "Everything will be alright." She assured him.

"Thank you, Alice..." He said, shutting his eyes. In one single motion he had her swept up into his arms, clasping on to her frail figure with a gentle force. It was time to get back in his groove. After all, Taruto and Pai didn't need to see their superior officer like this, anyway. With a gentle touch of the lips he kissed her cheeks just below her eyelids, loving the way her body heat felt against his own skin. "I owe you."

Alice fought off a blush and instead grinned. "I'll make sure to use that to my advantage." She assured him, sticking her tongue out at him teasingly. She was glad to see his personality bouncing back to normal.

"Now... today's just beginning... what do you say we go cheer up Taruto so that he's not caught up in his room all day?" He said, smiling. "I think that you could do a pretty good job at that, I mean, look at what you did to me..." He kissed her other cheek now, running a hand up through her hair.

"Alright." Alice nodded. "I don't want to see my teammates sad." She grinned to him. "I could make him something else to eat...would that help at all?"

Kisshu blinked, arching his head back a bit. "What do you mean 'something else?' Did he already eat?" He couldn't recall receiving or hearing of the pancakes being done. After thinking for a sec, he frowned. "Oh, you're mean."

Alice giggled lightly. "You tricked me first. I would have gladly agreed to do all the cooking if you had just asked me. The most I would have demanded was maybe a kiss." She flicked his nose just as he had done hers earlier. "Now, if you'll excuse me." She started to get up.

Kisshu smiled at her, shaking his head, disapprovingly. "Alright, alright, get out of here," he said, shoving her lightly by the shoulder out the door. "I still need to change my shirt, anyway. Shut the door behind you, alright?" He'd hoped she wouldn't see through that. In a house full of men, there was no need to close the door. This wasn't all he'd been planning on doing, and he prayed that she wouldn't see that and find it suspicious.

Alice caught that he was up to something, but let it go. She figured that it was the last thing he needed for her to call him out. She id as he asked and went to the kitchen. What to make?

Kisshu pulled the white T-shirt up over his head, letting it fall to the floor. He put one leg on the foot of the bed, pulling up the sleeve a bit to stare at his ankle. Many times he'd heard of people cutting themselves because it made the emotional pain stop for a little bit. Usually, it was on the wrist, and usually those people ended up dead. No, he couldn't kill himself. For a number of reasons. For one, he had to be there at the final battle. He had to ensure Alice's safety when the time came, and also make it known that he was responsible for the resorection (excuse my spelling) of the race that the stood for. Second... Second... He grimaced as an image of Ichigo flashed into his head. God, damn it... He thought to himself. Even in the pressence of my soul mate, I still can't forget her... A knife appeared in his hand, letting him run the blade smoothly across the skin. He grunted at first, then succumed to it, allowing his head to drop down to his knee. After he felt satisfied, the blade disappeared. Making his way into the bathroom, he made it a point to clean up the blood and wrap up the cut. Satisfied after a few moments of praying, he left the room for the kitchen.

Alice's nose twitched. Even amongst the scent of the cooking food, she could smell blood. She shuddered and turned back to the food. It was probably just that someone had fallen and scraped themselves or something trivial. Still...she had the odd feeling that something was wrong.

Kisshu came into the kitchen, grinning. He stopped an inhaled deeply. "Oh, man, that smells good!" He said, his arms extended. He made two strides over to her and threw his arms around her waist. "Do I get a share this time, my dear?"

Alice winced. The blood...the smell...it was coming from Kisshu...she felt sick.... "What did you do?" She whispered to him. "I can smell it....what did you do?" Her head started spinning...what a terrible smell...

Suddenly, there seemed to be a siren going off in his head. Damn it all! How could he have forgotten that she had the genetics of an animal within her?! Of course she'd be able to smell it! He swore at himself in his head, his grip loosening up on her as he gave an innocent look. "Huh? What are you talking about, Alice? Is something troubling you?" Even his own lying voice didn't sound convincing this time.
