she tried to win the little cat at the bottle game but she couldn't get the ring on it at all "this is to hard ill never get the cat."

In his world the terms 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend' weren't used so he didn't think much about it in his mind that meant female friend but had never even heard someone use girlfriend before so he asked Rose about it as they walked away.
"Why did he say girlfriend? Is that different from friend or something? Why specify that you're female?" He asked her confused.
"We grew up speaking English and all but not from around here." Zoe interjected when rejoining them

"It's like being the third wheel to a parents first date cause Rose is so much like mom and you've always been a lot like dad." She said quickly.

Jason gave Zoe a questioning look but she wasn't paying him any attention and wandered off again to get a slushee, almost running when she saw that they had extra large cups and you could get free refills with them. She also wanted to try cotton candy

(oh, okay, i've never heard funnel cake refereed to as elephant ear)
He ate it but it was hard to tell what he thought of it. Zoe sat down drinking her slushee and eating her own funnel cake with chocolate drizzle and cotton candy.
