Onyx roamed around town, preferring the night life over the crowds of the day, as a whole she didn't have a very big problem with humans, but there were just so many of them and so many were oblivious and walked into each other.
She wandered into a neighborhood not realizing that it was Gavin's, not that it mattered, she just wasn't paying attention as she wandered down the street.

She turned off the street and onto one that lined the forest that surrounded about half of the town. She settled back in the park and laid in the grass looking up at the stars.

Gavin was hunting. He was silent, no sound, no movement, no way to tip anyone off. he found onyx laying in the grass but being as he'd given himself to the beast he did not recognize her.

Onyx wasn't paying much attention, she was looking at the constellations and thinking back on where ones use to be when they could actually be seen, now with pollution a lot could no longer be seen, but she remembered where they are supposed to be.

Gavin's hunger took over and he actually attacked Onyx. His teeth sunk into her throat and he moved just quickly enough that he would be able to taste her blood before she could respond.

Her own instincts took over and she used offensive magic, something she rarely did and it knocked him a few feet away from her. It took a second for it to process who she had actually used magic against and asked, "Gavin? Oh crap! I'm so sorry!"

She gasped in pain and forced herself to focus long enough to knock him away again and become the magic-like vapor and return to her bottle before he attacked her again. If she had tried to return to the bottle with him attacking her like that then there would have been a chance that he would have gone into the bottle with her.

The bites healed for the most part, well they stopped bleeding and stopped hurting, but she received a terrible skull-splitting migraine in response to using magic against her master. Some genies got very sick, Onyx had migraines so bad she wanted to split her head open that lasted for about an hour.
