Ryoji went to the park near the lake sat down on a bench and played with a lighter as he stared down at the ground.

A small child with dark blue hair and crimson eyes was perched on the armrest of the couch.
Niiro glanced at him and almost had a heart attack. "WHAT THE-?!"
The child snickered. "You don't know the old trick of changing your age?" he asked. "It's Shoku."
Niiro blinked. "...Wait, what?"
Shoku snickered once more. "Skilled vampires can change the age of their appearance. I simply wanted to test it out. That's not why I'm in here though"

"Then why are you here?" Niiro looked over his features. Shoku looked like an eleven year old now.
After a moment of silence, Shoku's playful expression turned once of urgency. "You REALLY need to come back to the village. It is not a choice now. You must come. Something came up..."
Niiro scoffed, "I'm not falling for it, Shoku."
"I kid you not, Niiro!" Shoku's voice was rushed, almost frightened.

"Well, what happened?" Niiro asked in more of a whiny tone.
"The leader. He needs to speak to you." Shoku gave him pleading eyes.
Niiro mulled over this. "I can't go right now."
"You must!" Shoku cried.
"But, Ryoji and Axel....!" Niiro protested.

Niiro yanked away from him. "No...!"

Axel came down the stairs rubbing his eyes, looked oh so adorable as he looked over at them and yawned cutely.

Shoku looked at Axel. "He's a newborn, right? Can't he just come along?" he asked, now irritated.
"We can't leave Ryoji behind but we sure as hell can't bring him to our village!" Niiro barked.

"He's human! That's why!" Niiro pushed him off the armrest.
Shoku made a whiny noise when he hit the floor.
