[The Wayfaring Stranger]

"Hmm...gimme a moment to devise a strategy." said Luke turning towards the wall for a moment to think to himself.

Anna sat there watching him think, which made there think what is he thinking? she stood up and sat on the bed "what is your strategy"

"I've got a plan. Ok, this might not work, but here's what I propose: You stay hidden near the beast's dwelling place while I, from quite a distance away, spill a bunch of animal blood all over the place. The beast will hopefully come to where I am and see the blood and eat the animal while I hide. Meanwhile, you move in on what the beast was guarding and find out what it is. You should have plenty of time to get in and out." explained Luke.

"okay the area is wooded so you can easly hide, and I have about a minute and thirty seconds to see whats in there or I'm dead." Anna smiled and stood up "we should first get the animal then tommorow moring he's less active and will eat and run slower."

"Sounds like a plan. Remember: You'll be hiding while I'm spreading the blood all over the place. And yeah, we should get him while he's sleepy and tired." said Luke, smiling for the first time in the time since he had met Anna then turning away as if to hide it.

"I remember last time when I saw him all sleepy he ran into a tree, so this should be fun." Anna said laughing "he looked drunk when he's half awake."

"So, first thing in the morn-" began Luke. He stopped for a second then resumed, "Oh...I forgot...."

"what you forgot what?" Anna asked sitting up "what's wrong?"

[The Wayfaring Stranger]

"I forgot that I can't just stay at any place I wish. I'll pass the night right outside if you don't mind." said Luke politely.

"that's okay I don't mind." Anna smiled and stood up "I can't make you stay it's your choice."

"Oh, thank you so much!" said Luke smiling.

The sun was hidden from sight by thick yet light-colored cumulonimbus clouds, making the calculation of sun time impossible.

"Say, what time do you suppose it is?" asked Luke. The wayfarer was weary and confused making him believe it to be late in the evening even though the light forbid such a thing. Then again, in the far northern regions of the world, the sun sets for only a few hours.

"the time well seeing the temperature, and the clouds are never like this at night so it's around five." Anna said grabbing a bucket, "water time," she said happily as she started singing about all types of water "this is my favorite part of the day."

Luke looked at Anna strangely as she sang about water while holding a bucket. The look on his face almost blurted out "..." He then asked her, "So where do you get water in this wasteland- I-mean- land?" he corrected himself.

"you'll see." Anna said winking before turning back and walking on humming her song. he did ask alot of questions but she didn't mind, questions are good.

Luke didn't say anything as he followed her. His eyes were constantly focused on the horizon or some distant hill. He was obviously absent minded.

"hey! Hey!" Anna hissed pulling him over "you almost fell off a cliff be careful, you need to pay attention rather then stare at things" Anna said then noticed how close she was to him, "lets just go were almost there."

"Oh sorry about that! It's an old...habit of mine." said Luke smiling. It was unusual for the wayfarer to be absent minded as he was now- for he had to constantly be on his toes during his journey.

"well just be careful okay." Anna said as she started to pull him along "a couple more minutes and were to the spot, it's the only place I can find water around here."

"Man, you sure have to travel for quite awhile to just get water." remarked Luke as he was now being taken by the hand. Being a pacifist, Luke did not struggle as Anna pulled him along.

"where here." anna said pulling him into a cave. The cave was dark but lit up at her touch, "there's some strange thing that it reacts to touch, but at the end there's this." Anna let go of his hand and walked up to the looming waterfall "this place has many strange secrets I don't understand, but wish I could know it's secrets "Anna sighed running her hands through her hair "this is what makes me happy to be stuck here, I get to see something so beautiful."

"Wow..." was all Luke could say for a moment. The light coming from the cave walls lit the waterfall aglow and made it look like an urban fountain at night, lit up with powerful lights from below. "How did you find this place in particular amongst so many barren hills and cliffs?" he asked peering upwards. He was barely able to spot the waterfall's source.

"I found it running from that lion thing and he for some reason will not enter this place, it's like it repels him." She said as stuck the bucket into the water "there are always secrects in even the most barren of places."

"How far away from that beast's dwelling do you suppose this haven is?" asked Luke dipping his hand into the cool water.

"quite far away actually, he lives on the other side" Anna said picking the bucket up and setting it down before sitting on the edge of the water "I hate not knowing when I'm safe from it, but here I can actually relax."

"Why not live here in this cave then?" asked Luke, "I mean, you could be safe down here and have water available for when you need it." explained Luke strolling examining the roof of the cave.
