He still didn't understand. People rarely do. "Memories. They'll steal them. Even though you might not like most of them, you need them. You'll feel empty without them." Rae suddenly stopped, how the heck had he gotten that out of her?

"Well, most memories of mine are of nothing but murder and unhappiness. And I will never feel empty inside.... even if I wanted to." Leo said in a sad tone as he reminded himself of Alice and Rae. "But as long as you I have you guys, I will be alright." Leo smiled again as he tried to hide his own pain. so that he could help them with theirs.

Rae looked over her shoulder, then turned on her heels and walked towards Leo. Alice looked all protective and stuff. "Memories make up a person. When you lose memories, you lose part of yourself." She patted his cheek with her hand, resisting the urge to slap him, "Trust me, I've seen what it does to people." She stopped, "Strike that, don't trust me. That could be slightly stupid of you."

"Don't." She said, turning away and ploping down on the first old cot-thing she saw.

Alice yawned and layed down. She peeked at Leo and Rae with one eye, but remembered how Leo had asked her to let him fight his own battles. With a long sigh she turned over and let herself drift to sleep.

Rae looked at Alice, who yawned, "It's not my fault, but the people around me get hurt." She clarified, making sure the bo staff rested in her hand. She never slept without it there.
